About Me

I grew up in a small quaint community in the Similkameen Valley of Princeton BC.  My family’s farm is nestled against the Similkameen River and this is where I fell in love with my passion for the outdoors. Some of my best memories are exploring the backcountry with my Dad, Bob Coyne.

During these backcountry adventures, my Dad taught me everything he could about nature and wildlife. From identifying types of trees and plants, to how to locate animals and understand their behaviours. But most of all, I learnt from my Dad the importance of being a steward of the land and the importance of habitat and wildlife conservation.

I met the love of my life Marina Coyne while working in Cranbrook BC in 2003 and we quickly became married in 2005. We now live in the heart of the Okanagan Valley in one of the most beautiful small towns in Canada, Peachland BC. In our free time you will find us inseparable love birds spending most of our time together enjoying Canada’s wilderness playground.

Since 2010 Marina and I have become very involved with fish and wildlife conservation groups. I volunteer on several fish and wildlife conservation committees such as the Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance, along with being very active with volunteer work with groups such as the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and the Ministry of Lands Forest & Natural Resources.

In 2022, I won the Photographer of the Year award with the Wild Sheep Society of BC, then was invited to become a member of their ambassador team.

I'm very passionate in creating awareness for wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship with others, I try to do this by capturing special wilderness moments through my lens. This is what I hopes to do with this website and my photography.

Danny Coyne Photography is proud to support local wildlife conservation groups by providing donations from my work to these groups.

My favourite quote that I believe that best defines my personal values is from Theodore Roosevelt "Wildlife & its habitat cannot speak, so we must & we will!"
